Our initial Twitter solution was still in its testing phase when Sixt expressed an interest in using it to organise a retweeting competition in August 2013 to interact with its Twitter community, enabling users to win a weekend luxury car rental.

In order to maximise the impact of this Twitter competition (which tend to be very short-lived), we set up a dedicated minisite to manage the campaign and to contextualise the competition without being tethered to 140 characters to explain how the game worked and the prizes up for grabs.

Result after 20 days:

  • 185 participants (close to 20% of followers)
  • 157 new followers
