A museum that innovates on social networks
Spreading the word regarding MuCEM prior to its public opening
The Musée des Civilisations de l'Europe et de la Méditerranée [Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations] (MuCEM) successfully opened its doors to the public in June 2013 in Marseille. An initial communication campaign was launched in November 2012 to build public awareness of the museum.
The idea was to reflect its communication campaign on the web (mainly on Facebook), based on several portraits of Marseille locals giving their personal vision of what the MuCEM would be like.
We developed an app that allowed users to customise their Facebook profile picture by integrating a picture of themselves into one of the portraits of the locals displayed across the city on advertising boards! Users could also add their own text to their photo to share their own vision of the MuCEM opening in June 2013.
